Authorized Generics
Prasco’s Authorized Generic is the Brand®
An Authorized Generic* is an approved brand name drug sold in private label packaging through generic trade channels. An Authorized Generic is the exact same drug product as the brand, including both active and inactive ingredients.

*According to the FDA, an Authorized Generic is “an approved brand name drug that is marketed without the brand name on its label. Other than the fact that it does not have the brand name on its label, it is the exact same drug product as the branded product.”
Not all generic drugs have the same formula
All generic drugs are FDA approved and are as safe and effective as the brand name¹. Most people know they also have the same active ingredients as the brand name, but many don’t realize generics are not required to have the same inactive ingredients² as the brand. These make up over 70% of a tablet on average³. Prasco’s Authorized Generics always have the exact same active and inactive ingredients as the brand name product.
