Cincinnati, Ohio, September 16, 2004—Prasco Laboratories, a privately-held pharmaceutical company located in Cincinnati, Ohio, announced today it has begun shipping its new oral contraceptive Cesia™1(desogestrel/ethinyl estradiol) Tablets. Cesia (pronounced SESH-ah) is a Prasco Authorized Generic oral contraceptive, AB-Rated and therapeutically equivalent to the brand Cyclessa®2 from Organon. Cesia will compete for generic sales with one other generic triphasal desogestrel/ethinyl estradiol oral contraceptive product in this market segment.

Cesia tablets are presented in a hard, compact case and are packaged three units to a box.

This pharmacy friendly package of three compacts will provide pharmacists more flexibility—regarding inventory and shelf space—than the other generic in this market segment,” said Arington. “In addition, Cesia’s compact case is identical to the brand product, which we believe is preferred by women over a blister-card wallet.
